Step 1: First, locate the filter. Many times, they are located under the air purifier, or towards its back. Note down where it came and how it placed before pulling it out.

Step 2: Pull the filter out. Carefully, pull the filter out of the purifier. If it is a disposable filter, place it in a plastic bag. Store it for comparison. Find the exact replacement filter for it.
If it is a reusable filter, gently clean with warm water and soap. Rinse thoroughly until all the studs are removed from the filter. If there is excess water, shake the filter and remove it. Place it aside when finished.

Step 3: Disassemble the air purifier. Keep track of what you are doing so that you can replace the parts easily later. Take notes, if possible, for easier assembly later.

Step 4: Wipe down the entire purifier and all its parts using a damp cloth and warm water. Wipe all the parts and grooves thoroughly.

Step 5: Dry all the air purifier's parts by leaving on a clean surface. It might take several hours, depending on the make and nature of the filter.

Step 6: Once it is dry, replace your air purifier back. Now it should be clean and working properly.

* Note: Once you replace the air purifier back, and if it still does not work, pull out the filter again and let it dry for few more hours. Use a blow dryer and set it on low heat to dry the filter.
